Arts EducationWe invite you to attend out MSAI Non-Residential Arts Disciplines Camp. This two-week, non-residential camp will be held from June 21 to July 2, with classes taking place five days per week. Classes will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on the campus of DSU with six class periods per day; these classes will consist of Visual Art, Vocal Music, Dance, Theatre, and Yoga. This camp will be available for $300, plus the cost of food that must be covered at the camper’s daily expense. In addition to the daily classes, campers may attend evening activities such as a faculty/staff/camper talent show, a cookout on the Quad, and two movie nights. Two field trips--a trip to Indianola, MS to visit the B.B. King Museum and a trip to Jackson, MS to attend a preliminary round of the USA International Ballet Competition— are extra perks being provided at no additional cost to campers. A brochure with more information will be mailed out later in April. If we do not have your address (or if you are unsure as to whether we have it), please email your information to bpacms@gmail.com to be added to our summer arts mailing list. We do recognize that this camp's non-residential nature will make it somewhat less accessible for those of you who are outside of the Delta region. We encourage you to contact friends and relatives in the area and explore every avenue you can to be able to attend. We hope that you are all able to make arrangements to be here with us this year as we put together another great camp. It is our hope to have the Core Arts, Broadway, and Creative Artists’ Theatre camps restored in full in 2011. |
